Reintroducing Tonya Williams: Strengthening Brookstone’s Client-Centered Approach
At Brookstone Wealth Management, we strive to make all our clients feel welcomed, respected, and heard. In order to do this, we have built a team of experienced financial professionals that place client success as their highest priority.
Our team-oriented philosophy puts our clients at the center of every decision we make. Today, we are excited to officially reintroduce Tonya Williams to the Brookstone family as her non-compete agreement with her previous firm came to an end in 2024.
Though she joined us over two years ago, Tonya’s role was limited due to these constraints. Now, she’s ready to fully bring her expertise to the forefront, enhancing the personalized financial strategies that make Brookstone unique.
Brookstone Adapts to Special Considerations Certain Clients Face in Financial Planning
Tonya’s background in the financial services industry spans nearly two decades and her experiences throughout this time mirror what we have seen. Our team has helped a variety of clients, and most were seeking the same thing – an advisor who understood them and put their needs first.
Unfortunately, clients often struggle to find an advisor who embodies these traits. Further, women tend to find it especially difficult to secure an advisor that they trust and one who can help them reach their financial goals. We have seen firsthand the difficulties that women face in financial planning, and they have also been proven through research.
Women Have Less Wealth on Average Than Men
Half of households are headed by women, but they own just 28% of total household wealth. The women that run these households often face significant headwinds when trying to grow their funds and overcome the wealth gap.
Women Need Compassionate Advisors Who Put Them First
You’ll need to get “financially naked” with your advisor, so you want to make sure that you are comfortable with them. However, many people – especially women – feel that their advisors don’t make them comfortable or meet their expectations. In fact, a New York Life study showed that 48% of women feel patronized by financial advisors and 40% of respondents feel financial advisors push women out of financial conversations.
Many Women Feel More Comfortable with A Female Advisor
Due to the factors listed above, about half of female investors believe that a female advisor would be more attuned to their needs. On the other hand, only 56% of women that would prefer a female advisor have the opportunity to work with one. That’s because very few financial advisors are women. Brookstone Wealth Management is breaking this mold.
Brookstone Advocates on Behalf of All Clients to Help Them Feel Confident in Their Finances
After seeing the issues that investors face, we set out to create a firm built on a collaborative, client-focused approach. Tonya exemplifies this ethos in everything she does.
On her approach to financial planning, Tonya calls herself a Champion of The Underdog. She says, “I have a passion for advocating on behalf of clients who may feel overlooked, ensuring they are empowered and well-represented in their financial journey.”
By building strong relationships with clients, we help them reach their financial goals, minimize stress, and feel confident in their plan. This personalized approach allows our clients to trust us for more than financial guidance, but also for navigating life’s milestones – big and small – with personalized care. Our team is especially passionate about empowering women investors to feel confident when choosing to grow their individual wealth.
Joining Brookstone Helped Tonya Go from Good to Better
After many years at her previous firm, Tonya was ready to explore a new opportunity that gave her the freedom to approach financial planning in the way she felt was best for her clients. In the spirit of her favorite Dolly Parton quote, “you’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try,” she took a leap of faith and began looking for a new firm to call home. Fortunately, she found Brookstone Wealth Management – a woman-led firm that focuses on coaching, teaching, and mentoring clients.
Tonya and Brookstone founder, Tami McDonald, discussed their approach to financial planning and found that they share many of the same goals and methods for helping clients achieve financial success. Tami founded Brookstone as a firm that puts clients at the center of every decision and helps them “pull their head out of the sand” when it comes to their finances. This mentality resonated with Tonya, and she chose to officially join Brookstone in 2022.
Tami was overjoyed to have Tonya on the Brookstone team. She says:
“Tonya is passionate about helping clients navigate both their successes and the inevitable challenges life brings. Her love for her family extends to her clients, many of whom have become her chosen family. With an unwavering work ethic and dedication to our clients, she consistently ensures they feel supported every step of the way. Her commitment to our team brings a sense of peace, knowing we can always rely on her leadership and care.”
The Team at Brookstone Is Ready to Help You Succeed
The completion of Tonya’s non-compete in 2024 is not just a milestone for her but for our entire team. We are more equipped than ever to continue serving our clients with the highest level of care and expertise. Our team is excited to build on the relationships we’ve developed and continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.

Her passion for helping people navigate their financial journeys – combined with Brookstone’s collaborative team approach – will continue to define the exceptional level of service our clients have come to expect.
